We both really enjoyed the walk. Lovely scenery and very little road walking. All the accommodation was very good an all the bookings and luggage transfers went very smoothly. All in all it was a fabulous holiday. It’s the first National Trail we’ve done in one go and we really enjoyed it. We’ll certainly do more in the future. Just got to decide which one is next.
The communication from you has been superb from day one, and the supporting documentation was very useful and clear. Pleased to say that we finished the walk yesterday and are now enjoying a bit of relaxation in Eastbourne. A great walk with some excellent accommodation.My general comments are that it was an excellent National Trail with the highlight being the view from the wall overlooking Cuckmere Haven and the view along the Seven Sisters to Beachy Head. It was very well organised by Discovery Walking and I will certainly recommend your services.

We had a fantastic time on the walk- the organisation was brilliant and everything went very smoothly. We enjoyed all the places we stayed and many of the hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, such as giving us a complementary slice of cake and cup of tea when we checked in or booking us a table at the local pub ahead of time.Each B&B at which we stayed had its own unique charm and character, it was lovely to stay in such a range of places and each day there was a great choice of breakfast items. It was ideal to be able to get a lift from the trail direct to the place we were staying and the luggage transfer system always worked perfectly- when we had arrived into Lewes our host had even taken the trouble to carry our suitcases up four flights of stairs into our rooms for us!I don’t think anything could have improved our experience, it was all so well organized and we particularly liked having the map annotated with places we were staying and places to find refreshments. The trip was hard work but huge enjoyment. I had not realised there were so many Ups on the Downs! The highlights were the long periods of quiet walking, the sights and sounds of the countryside (even saw what appeared to be a wild peacock!), the views from the tops of the ridges. And also actually making it each day to the accommodation, decent food and good nights sleep.The accommodation was all good and the people friendly and welcoming. The pack you provided was very useful and I used all of the maps and the SDW guide. My luggage was always ready and waiting at the end of the day. We were delighted with our walking holiday completed yesterday evening, it exceeded our expectations in every way, accommodation excellent, food great, baggage transfer smooth, wonderful scenery and easy walking. Weather superb once rain stopped Monday morning and it was a bit too hot by yesterday. Reluctantly we finished as planned but we are keen to complete trip Amberley/ Eastbourne when time and budget allows, hopefully 2019.
Just to say thanks for the seamless transfers on the SDW that you arranged for my baggage early in July. It all worked extremely well; a bit better than the experience I had on the Offa’s Dyke Path a couple of years ago.
The trip was wonderful, hot and a bit sunburnt, but wonderful. I especially liked the lunch recommendation locations; it was great to be able to plan ahead there. I’d like to highlight the Downs View in Upper Beeding, whose website (or exterior) really doesn’t do it justice – the food is exceptional and all the details to make your stay more comfortable have been thought through. The views and the food at both the Sportsman in Amberley and the Riverdale House in Alfriston were also delightful.I will unhesitatingly recommend South Downs Discovery to anyone interested in doing the trail.

After making the decision to cycle from Winchester to Eastbourne on the South Downs Way we decided to get the help of some experts to help plan our trip. From the start of the planning process South Downs Discovery were professional, efficient and thorough and the accommodation used really came up trumps. Having that inside knowledge of the best places to stay really made the trip a great success. Information on the route, places of interest and pre departure information was passed on in a timely manner and I only have good things to say about this company.

Our trip was absolutely lovely. Everything worked perfectly, from our communication before our trip, the taxi driver who picked us up in Petersfield, the B&B owners along the way to the last minute when we took the train back to London from Shoreham.The B&Bs you booked for us were all lovely in their own way. Each of them was clean, comfortable and offered good food. The luggage transfer worked fine. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly and helpful, so that we are definitely planning to come back some day.Thank you very much for organizing this trip for us.
